Tuts index Part 2 Part 3

Open a new image 500x500.

Select the preset shape tool "ellipse" with a black stroke and no fill background. Draw an ellipse.

select the pen tool.

Open the "Vector 1" layer by clicking the cross next to its name,

Then double click the layer called "Ellipse" in the layer window.
Change the name of the layer to "Egg01" or whatever you would like your shape to be named.

Select the bottom node of the ellipse.

Move the arrow a little (the most perpendicularly to the egg that you can).

Then do the same with the other side.

In the pen tool options, select the drawing mode and the point to point segment mode.

Draw a broken line. For that click the starting point, then click to each point of the line.

Add a new node on the ellipse border next to the starting point of the broken line,
and join the starting point of the line whith the node you just added by dragging it.

Do the same with the end of the broken line.

Click any point of the broken line to select it.

Go to the 'Objects' menu, select 'Edit' sub-menu and choose 'Duplicate & Offset'.

You get this :

Place the new line a bit under the previous, and join the extermities to the ellipse like we did on the first one.

Select the Pen tool, Drawing mode, Line segments.

Click near the top left of the egg, keep the mouse down and move the cursor near the top right of the egg.
This draws a straight line. Right click on the ending node, select 'node type', 'curve before'.
(if you miss and click twice (as I did :), then you will have to choose 'curve after', the point is to have a handle to curve the line. )
To curve the line, drag the handle (arrow or circle) downwards and towards the middle of the line.
Then link both ends of your curved line to the border of the egg as we did with the broken lines.

Waoh ! We have a nice egg ! Lol :) You can now save it as a shape.

We are now going to decorate it.
For those who didn't succeed or think their egg it too ugly to be decorated or are unfortunate enough to have PSP7,
you can use this shape
which will work with both PSPs (I hope :) )
